Welcome

A New Day for Midwest Airlines

A MESSAGE FROM TIMOTHY E. HOEKSEMA, CHAIRMAN, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MIDWEST AIRLINES

Please accept my personal thanks for your patience and support this past year, as we’ve made changes to adapt to the impact of record fuel prices and a weak economy. As you may already know, we’ve announced significant progress on our voluntary restructuring plan, which will allow Midwest Airlines to remain viable and position us for future growth and profitability. Perhaps more important for you, it will enable us to preserve what our customers and communities say they value most about us: nonstop service to key business markets and a commitment to superior customer service.

A key piece of our efforts is a new relationship with Republic Airways–which both provided new capital to Midwest Airlines and also began operating 12 Embraer 170 aircraft under our Midwest Connect brand, replacing some of our Boeing 717s. Our remaining 717s will focus on key business markets like Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. The 717s will continue to feature our new Midwest Class, offering a choice of seating in the same coach cabin and “The best care in the air” for all.

The new schedule we introduced in September remains in place. It includes nonstop service to 28 cities from Milwaukee, convenient service from Milwaukee through Kansas City to the West Coast, and nonstops from Kansas City to both coasts. Please refer to the route map on pages 110-111 of this issue or log on to www.midwestairlines.com to view or print a complete timetable.

While our airline may be changing in some ways, who we are is defined by much more than routes and schedules. Please be assured that our commitment to providing you with personal and attentive service will not change.

From all of us at Midwest Airlines, we wish you and yours happy holidays. And we look forward to welcoming you aboard again soon.

P.S. We hope you enjoy reading this issue of MyMidwest. I’d like to remind you that all issues of MyMidwest are available in our online archive at www.mymidwestmagazine.com. The Web site features a convenient search function that allows you to search for articles that reference a particular destination; it’s a great resource to consult when planning your next trip.
