Signature or Saver? The Choice is Yours.
A MESSAGE FROM TIMOTHY E. HOEKSEMA, CHAIRMAN, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MIDWEST AIRLINES
When Midwest Airlines took to the skies 24 years ago, our goal was to provide a better experience for travelers. Over the years we’ve changed along with the world, the economy and the airline industry, but we remain committed to doing all we can to make travel easier and more comfortable for our passengers.
Our Signature seats and generous legroom were a hit from the start. Our Best Care Cuisine program offers unique onboard dining options. Our robust Midwest Miles program allows you to earn and redeem miles with more than 50 program partners. Beyond that, we continue to employ great people who really care about providing quality service. Many of those who were with us at the start are still with us today, having been joined along the way by co-workers who also love making your travel a satisfying experience.
Since the launch of Saver Service in 2003, travelers have suggested adding Signature seating to those flights. The first phase of our new seating choice program did just that, adding 12 Signature seats—available for purchase at check-in—to our MD-80 aircraft and covering all of the remaining seats in our familiar brown leather.
The second phase of seating choice—involving our Boeing 717s—is scheduled to be in place by late summer. In an approach unique in the industry, we will install 40 Signature seats, arranged 2-by-2 with even greater legroom than today, and 59 2-by-3 custom-designed Recaro coach seats, allowing us to offer a significant number of discounted seats on each flight. Travelers paying higher-value refundable fares will be assigned a Signature seat, if available, at no additional charge. For lower-priced tickets, you can choose a Signature seat for an additional fee in advance or when checking in if available.
When designing the program, we were careful to retain Midwest’s brand promise by offering a choice of seating in one cabin and providing “The best care in the air” to all customers. And our flights will continue to have fewer seats per aircraft than comparable aircraft on other airlines, which means more room and comfort for you no matter which seat you choose.
This innovative seating program truly redefines coach class by offering a unique choice of seating types on every Midwest Airlines flight. Think of it as Midwest Class.
Thank you for your loyalty to Midwest Airlines. And, however you’re traveling, please accept our sincere thanks for making us your airline of choice.
