Award-Winning Service With Seating Options
A MESSAGE FROM TIMOTHY E. HOEKSEMA, CHAIRMAN, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MIDWEST AIRLINES
To make sure we’re providing the types of services customers want, Midwest Airlines goes to great lengths to talk to our customers. One of the key messages we receive is that passengers are increasingly looking for choice and value. To meet this demand, Midwest is in the process of instituting a customer-driven, seating-choice program in 2008.
If you have flown on one of our MD-80 aircraft recently, you have already had the opportunity to experience our new seating-choice program. All of the cabins of our MD-80s now offer 12 twoby-two Signature seats that passengers may purchase at the time of check-in. Additionally, all the remaining seats in these aircraft are now covered in our familiar and comfortable brown leather.
In the latter half of this year, the second phase of seating choice will be available on our Boeing 717s, which will feature 40 Signature seats with even more legroom than what is available now, and 59 two-by-three custom-designed Recaro Saver seats to accommodate more price-conscious travelers. Passengers may choose a Signature seat several ways: by purchasing a refundable fare—which guarantees a Signature seat; by paying an additional fee at the time the flight is booked; or by purchasing the seat when checking in. At that time, all of these Signature seat purchase options will also be available on MD-80 flights. Of course, no matter where you choose to sit on our aircraft, you will receive the same award-winning service you have come to expect from us.
That service was recently recognized once again when the 2007 Zagat U.S. Airlines Survey ranked Midwest Airlines No. 1 in overall quality for U.S. economy service. Zagat has been rating U.S. airlines roughly every two years since 1994, and in every single one of those surveys, Midwest Airlines has been rated No. 1. I believe we’ve earned that honor by working hard to consistently deliver a superior travel experience. And we’ve done this despite the many changes that have affected the travel industry over the years. We know the industry will continue to change, and we plan to adapt and grow with it. However, we will never lose sight of the goal we set when we started our airline—to provide passengers with “The best care in the air.”
We look forward to completing our comprehensive seating choice program and offering you the seating options you prefer at the prices you want.
I hope you have pleasant flight with us today and every time you fly us in the future.
