The Coronado Speed Festival (Oct. 6-7) will feature 225 of the world’s most unique vintage racecars competing on the basis of historical significance and certified authenticity. The event takes place at the Naval Air Station North Island, the birthplace of naval aviation. At the Miramar Air Show (Oct. 12-14), the world’s best military and civilian pilots in everything from old biplanes to the newest stealth fighter jets will soar through the skies at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, 15 miles north of downtown. There will also be more than 200 hands-on exhibits, all free to the public.
