A League of Their Own

Baseball, America’s favorite pastime, conjures up images of roaring crowds and warm summer air, not to mention the thrill of the game itself. While Major League Baseball garners most of the attention, local Minor League teams hold a special place in the hearts of many baseball fans. The players seem more accessible and the stadiums are more homey. Photographer Ira Rosen spent several years documenting Minor League games, fans and venues. He also published The American Game: A Celebration of Minor League Baseball. He invites you now to come, one and all, with your hot dogs, peanuts and Cracker Jack, and enjoy five scenes from the old ball game.
