Just footsteps from downtown Indianapolis, you can find Butterfly Extravaganza at the Indianapolis Zoo. The exhibit includes thousands of butterflies, which visitors can view from behind glass. The exhibit is free with the zoo’s admission price: $13.50 for adults and $8.50 for children older than 12 months and seniors. Children younger than 12 months get in free.

FIESTA SAN ANTONIO

Celebrating the memory of Davy Crockett and other heroes of the Alamo during the battle of San Jacinto, Fiesta San Antonio has grown into one of the largest public celebrations in the country. More than three and a half million people are in San Antonio for the 10-day festival.

Throughout the month of April, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts fills its galleries with bouquets and arrangements of fresh flowers from 70 New England garden clubs and professional florists. The displays interpret selected works of art from the museum’s collection.
Since its start in 1976, Art in Bloom has become a Bostonian spring tradition, growing from just 16 floral tributes to more than 90 arrangements. The sweet-smelling show attracts some 20,000 visitors over the four-day run. www.mfa.org

If thrill rides thrill you, head over to Kansas City’s most popular amusement park, Worlds of Fun, for the 2007 season opening. The park, which will be open weekends only until May 12, boasts six roller coasters, including the brand new “Patriot,” as well as 20 rides for children and the largest number of water attractions in the country. Tickets prices are $37.95 for adults and children over 48 inches tall and $11.95 for children older than three and under 48 inches tall.
